  1. I have had the Shell Mastercard since 2003 and it has gotten worse and worse. When I started, I could download transactions into Quicken, got 5% cashback on Shell purchases, and 1% on everything else. It was my primary credit card. I also got the cash price at gas stations (NJ), not the higher credit price. Over time, they stopped supporting Quicken one step download. Then they stopped doing automatic bank draft for the bills, so I stopped using it for anything but gas. In the last year, they stopped the 5% and have a different system varying from 3 - 6% basd on spending at least $500 on the card. Now I just learned that the gas stations won't give me the cash credit price anymore, but rather the higher credit. This card has really gotten bad and I put my transactions all on Discover now. As our family is growing, there's a lot more money, and Shell is missing out.

  2. Totally agree. The Shell card has gone from very good to really useless. Shell stations are scarce where I live and always the highest price. I spend upwards of $1,000/month and the card usage usually earns no credits nor "rewards" of any kind.
