  1. I love M&S especially the Coffee Shop. However I was at the Mery Hill, Dudley branch this evening where I ordered a Hot Chocolate. The man in front of me had two Latte s and I noticed the assistant put two of the christmas tree shape shortbread biscuits on each of his saucers. Thinking this was a nice geasture for christmas I looked forward to mine but I was only given one! I asked her why she was giving two to the men but only one to the women whereby she gave me another. This was not the point we should be treated equally this is discrimination. I noticed the lady behind me was only given one biscuit until I pointed out to her that the men get two. She said if anyone deserved an extra biscuit it was the women, we do most of the planning, shopping etc where the men just tag along. This may seem a very trival thing when you consider other major issues, but it really annoyed me.

  2. I love M&S, and have done so for decades. I actually have two Tshirts that are at least 25 years old and the quality is superb and the styling undated! My only comment is that, oerhaps because I am old .. 72 .. I dont like the piped music. We used to be allowed to browse in silence but if we have to have music, let it be a quiet burble in the background, please. The overwhelming majority of my wardrobe is M&S, so are a lot of my consumer durables and white goods. The food is scrumptious but for a pensioner, a little pricey.

  5. Excellent service as always but the collection service for the food ordered for Christmas was exceptional. The order was ready waiting at the appointed time...the whole process was very professionally instigated.The coffee shop is always a little bit of a muddle here in Beverley but it's in a muddle "with a smile"!

  6. I was in the Greenock Branch whilst 4 tills were in operation
    but there was a fair number of people queuing. Some people actually put their items back on the shelves rather than wait
    for what seemed like ages. Nobody seemed capable of putting another till in operation for 10mins or so to deal with the situation. M&S have had a run of bad publicity over the last few months but with service like this it is no wonder. The staff on the tills were doing their best but they cannot be expected to push customers through like cattle. Managers need
    to get on top of things a lot better and quicker. One reason
    for the delay was that people were buying clothing etc which
    was rather time-consuming as it had to be folded and have the
    prices etc removed. They should be required to go to the clothing tills. I've never seen anybody taking groceries etc to the clothing tills but I think I'll try it next time I'm in the shop which isn't all that often because of this type of delay.

  10. I enjoy shopping at M&S and the coffe shop is superb. Why in Dundee High Street, the new set up (of the coffe shop) is there only one till. This really annoys me and the ques are horrific.

  14. MY WIFE AND MYSELF have just moved to devon from yorkshire
    and we use the m/s at the willows my wife has bought ladies
    shirt and plouses with sleaves and she finds them very tight i think you shoud look into this

  15. I found the exact size jeans required for my husband BUT the leg width was ridiculous, far too wide! Other people were looking at the same jeans and were of the same opinion.

  17. I purchased an item last month and found it still had the security tag on it when I got home. I took it back to a branch nearer to me and the assistant was very polite and said that yes she could get it removed but would I please wait a while as she had to go to the Monsoon shop next door to get this done. Surely with M & S having so much business they should be able to deal with this in their own store!!

  18. use M&S & have done so for many years - however my mum who is a young 85 years has problems finding items to suit - she also had been a customer for many years-such a shame that you seem to provide items for either the very young or the younger 40 to 60s-

  20. I used to do all my food shopping at M&S but gave up & went to Waitrose instead, after M&S began playing stupid piped music. No one - including the staff - wants it, it drives customers away and is trashy and down-market. M&s used to mean quality - no longer.

  22. well we cant expect all M&S staff to be perfect and all to perform exactly the same, but at least politely, when I visited their guildford branch within seconds after asking directions to a certain part of the store, the female member replied patronizingly and made it obvious she did not want to be bothered by a potential customer. but thankfully every time I have visited the kew branch I left with a smile

  32. in soton hedge end store 14Dec found service as quite often at tills slow This particular assitant messed about with a box on her counter seeming unaware that there was people waiting to be served ,they seem to have no concept of hurrying even when there is a very big queue they just take their time slow as you like .The food hall is the exception

    I was in M&S Lowestoft High Street on 1st Feb - I had taken my friend in to do her shopping. I found some really good buys with great quality. I enjoy shopping at M&S, staff are always so pleasant and polite always happy to share a laugh. Both my friend and I found some really good stuff to buy and as ever, happy with M&S quality and service. The stores are also lovely and bright and have a "feel good" atmosphere.
